Sonoma County is in Northern California. It’s known for the Sonoma Valley wine region, as well as other notable winemaking areas such as the Dry Creek and Alexander valleys. The city of Sonoma is home to the 19th-century Mission San Francisco Solano and the central, colonial-era Sonoma Plaza. Near Glen Ellen, Jack London State Historic Park contains the gravesite and cottage of the American author, plus many trails.
With an average yield of 150-175 gallons per ton of grapes, you should see a little more than approximately 3.75 to 4 gallons per 50-pound bucket. Our must arrives with less than 4% MOG, all grapes are machine picked unless otherwise stated. Machine picking gives you more workable grape must per pound than hand picking.
Since, 1978, the United States Federal Government has made home winemaking legal with certain restrictions:
1) A household of two adults or more can make up to 200 gallons of homemade wine annually.
2) Single adult households can make up to 100 gallons of homemade wine annually.
State and local restrictions may apply. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list. You should research your own state and any updates to current legal code.

We typically ship within 1-2 business days, however, if you are located on the East Coast and place an order on Wednesday-Friday we may not ship until the following Monday. This is because we don’t want the pails to sit in a shipping warehouse of unknown temperature over the weekend. The shipping carriers usually give an estimate and we don’t want it to take more than 5 days transit time to reach you. West Coast orders will also typically ship out within 1 business day.
